Whats The Difference Between BIAB and Acrylic Nails

BIAB and acrylic nails are both types of nail enhancements that can make your nails look stronger and longer. However, they have some key differences in their application, appearance, and effects on your natural nails.

Here are some of the main differences between BIAB and acrylic nails:

  • Application: BIAB is a gel product that is applied to your natural nails and cured under a UV or LED lamp.  Acrylic is a liquid and powder mixture that is applied to your nails and hardens on its own.

BIAB is usually applied in one layer, while acrylic requires multiple layers and filing to shape the nails.

  • Appearance: BIAB comes in a range of neutral & Colour shades that can be used as a base for other colours or nail art. Acrylic can be any colour or design, and can be combined with tips to add length. BIAB gives a natural and glossy look, while acrylic can look more artificial and matte.

  • Effects: BIAB is gentler on your natural nails than acrylic, as it does not require harsh chemicals or E-Filing. BIAB also provides a protective layer that helps your nails grow longer and stronger. Acrylic can damage your natural nails by weakening them and making them prone to infections or fungus.  Acrylic also requires more maintenance and regular refills to avoid lifting or cracking.
